Legit Work From Home Jobs That Are Hiring

Updated on December 10, 2012

Please Read Before You Apply for Another WAH opportunity!

There are millions of people that are surfing the internet on a daily basis looking for legitimate companies to work from home for. The reasons that many want to work from home could range from the inability to find work, the need for an extra income, being able to be home with your children to wanting the freedom of setting your own schedule.

With so many scammers out there, it makes it difficult to filter through all of the trash in order to find that ideal job online. Working from home has many rewarding features, such as, no commute, no gas to put in your vehicle, no wardrobe selections, no make-up applications and no annoying bosses standing over you. The list could go on and on, but just like many of you, I was in a desperate search for a legitimate company, that I could work for and start immediately as well as pay me for my services. Unlike having a guide like the one I have created, I had to do hours and hours and days of research in order to find companies that were not based upon, MLM, B2B, cold colds, pay-for-work or extremely high upfront fees, because let's face it, if we actually had a few hundred laying around to just blow away on a shaky opportunity, then there would not necessarily be a need to look for work. Right?

I got together with three of my associates that were also in the same predicament that I was in. They needed a job fast to pay their bills and take care of their households. We were able to put together some information on the companies that we were interested and found to be very legitimate. We researched the companies and read the reviews on them as well. We were all successful with getting hired to work from home for a few of these companies! I've also compiled a list of the legitimate work from home companies that are currently hiring. I will also add companies each week throughout the course of my research on their legitimacy. Let me first say that these are not get rich quick jobs, so if that is what you are looking for, you will not find it here. What you will find are opportunity's to work from the comfort of your own homes and have the chance to gain the freedom that you deserve. You will also get brief reviews on what my associates and others have experienced with these companies or their hiring process. Please feel free to ask questions, leave comments or post your testimony's or experience. We are here to help you accomplish your work from home goals.

Work From Home Opportunities

Alpine Access www.alpineaccess.com
Alpine Access is a leading company that has an array of companies to work for within their entity. They are a legitimate company that has partnered with SYKES, with the mission of providing the best virtual customer service unit in the industry. Alpine Access does not have a long drawn out hiring process. It has been reported that most applicants receive a response or an invitation to interview within 24-48 hours of completing their assessment. Some of their perks include paid training, benefits, discounts and flexible part-time and full time schedules, in eastern, central, mountain and pacific times. Alpine Access also has a proven record of fast promotions, raises and incentives, which you will find very rewarding. Update: Alpine Access charges a one time fee of $45 for their background and credit check. No worries about the credit portion unless you choose to work on AMEX accounts or BOA. Other than that, once you are officially hired. The company that conducts the background investigation is totally different from Alpine Access, so they do not get the money. They have an array of full and part time positions. Still A great opportunity.

West at Home http://www.apply.westathome.com
West is another great company that has a speedy hiring process upon applying and taking their assessment. They also have paid training and opportunity's to work within a 24 hour shift. This type flexibility allows workers to take advantage of more than one work from home position. Update: West at Home charges $29.95 for their background check and your I-9 form has to be notarized and faxed or emailed back. West also uses an outsourced company that conducts their background checks, so they are not profiting from the fee. They too are still hiring and a legitimate company to work for.

Convergys www.convergys.com
Convergys is another legitimate work from home opportunity that are currently hiring work from home workers. Neither myself nor my associates were able to receive an invitation for an interview for this company, however there are several reviews online of people that have became employed with Convergys and were able to vouch for their legitimacy. Convergys is listed with the BBB and are said to be affiliated with large telecommunications companies such as AT&T.

Working Solutions http://www.workingsolutions.com/
Working Solutions is a great company as well. The hiring process for this company is very tedious though. Upon completing their application and assessment, it could take up to 2 weeks or longer to get a status on your application. Do not let this discourage you, because there are other companies out there, that are waiting to hire you immediately!

NEW Corp (National Electronics Warranty Corporation) www.newcorp.com
NEW Corp is another legitimate work from home company. It has been reported from my associates and other employees of this company, that the hiring process can be lengthy, but is worth the wait. They offer paid training, flexible and split schedules, PTO, vacation time, on time direct deposit, free DirecTV service and employee discounts. This company has also been reported to have zero tolerance for low scores during the 6 week training class and will terminate workers that are not meeting up to their standards. The main company that they service is DirecTV. I have read several reviews online about this company that have several pro's and several con's. Although this company is legit, My recommendation is to apply for this company only if you have tried the other top 4 companies.

Quicktate www.quicktate.com
Quicktate is a transcription company that does transcription services for doctor's offices, apartment complexes, attorney's etc. You are hired as an independent contractor and can set your own hours. The pay is not the best in the beginning, but it is a good way to earn extra money for gas or cellphone bills as a part-time venture. Some of the work that they will have you to do is transcribe 5 - 30 second voicemails. No experience necessary, but you are required to be able to pay close attention to detail, type at least 50 wpm and meet deadlines. If you are a great performer, you are given the opportunity to move up to their other company called idictate. I was told that it could take up to 4 weeks to hear back from them after your initial application.

Please check back daily/weekly, as I will be adding more companies to the list after thorough research has been done.
